Our dynamic fast-expanding telecommunications company is seeking a Compliance Assistant in the Office Department who can ensure that our operations are in compliance with all regulations, as well as the laws that govern business practices. The Compliance Assistant will be responsible for reviewing responses to official customer enquiries and correspondence with government authorities to ensure that they are complete and proper, familiar with data protection regulations and GDPR is preferred. You will be expected to soundly perform fact gathering, analysis of privacy issues and driving compliance controls on a day-to-day basis. If you have prior experience working in compliance in the EMEA region, we need you on our team.
Main Job Responsibilities:
• Assist in the legal compliance of CUE subsidiaries and branches in the EMEA region;
• Collaborate with the management team to make sure that the entire company is aware of
compliance requirements and issues;
• Assist in the management of all employee and business process compliance activity;
• Assist in creating and implementation of strategies to ensure compliance with data
protection laws;
• Assist in reviewing the Company's public announcements and privacy notices;
• Assist in developing internal controls and policies designed to ensure that all compliance
needs are met;
• Assist in CUE’s corporate aspects (including entities establishment and registration
procedures, the specific implementation of company secretaries, etc.);
• Consistently inform and advise the client on governance, accountability and risk;
• Other legal tasks assigned by the Company and CUG HQ.
Key Requirements:
• Previous experience in compliance, worked in the telecoms industry will be a plus;
• A degree or high-level qualification in law, a candidate who has related certifications (EUGDPR-
P, CIPP/E etc.);
• Ability to work independently yet also be a strong team player;
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills;
• The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, trust and credibility;
• Calm, controlled and resilient demeanour;
• A commercial attitude towards time management;
• Capable of dealing with complex issues using advanced problem-solving and diplomatic
skills;
• An ability to think strategically, assess risks and explain the potential consequences;
• Experience in drafting policies, interpreting legal contracts and report writing;
• Sufficient commercial awareness to understand, manage and navigate client expectations;
• Fluent in both English and Chinese Mandarin.
