Carpenters Workshop Gallery produces and exhibits functional sculptures by international artists and designers working outside their traditional territories of expression. It is an exciting, cutting-edge gallery, and we are looking for a Gallery Assistant to support the growth and maintenance of our London gallery.

We are looking for individuals that understand what it takes to be the best and preferably with proven success in a similar environment. If you are a team player, keen to learn with a desire to excel, and have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills please do apply.


Your role will be to work in partnership with the team, to provide administrative, logistical and organizational support along with handling client-facing situations on a day-to-day basis. There will also be an opportunity to gain experience in the commercial elements of the gallery, liaising with clients and artists where appropriate.


The gallery also participates in a large number of global art fairs each year whilst holding exhibitions in our London, Paris and New York galleries. Working at Carpenters Workshop Gallery will give you the opportunity to be involved in these events and the chance to experience the fast-paced, creative environment the gallery generates.


Key skills responsibilities:

  • Flexibility, agility and adaptability

  • Ability to work in a pressured environment without supervision

  • Strong research capabilities

  • Hold a key role in events, providing preparation, gallery hospitality and support throughout fairs and exhibitions.

  • Possess the required resources needed to keep the gallery operational at all times.

  • Presentation skills both written and verbal

  • High level of literacy and numeracy skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work within team

  • A logical approach to problem solving and analyzing

  • Confident decision making

  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritise heavy workloads

  • Proficient in all Office programs and IT literate

  • Hold a genuine passion for the arts and interest to gain experience within a gallery environment

  • Mandarin language is a plus
