The candidate will gain exposure to the whole of the Middle Office department, incorporating both Trade Support and Electronic Trading, whilst also having broad access and exposure to the wider firm. The individual will work within a small specialist Middle Office department, which ultimately reports to the Director of Electronic Trading, and all of whom are located on the trading floor. Above all, you will need to be sincere and trustworthy, with a sound understanding, respect and commitment to our obligation to maintain the stability and fairness of financial markets, and the remit of compliance and governance parameters outlined both by the Company and our Regulators. The Role The role requires an individual to support the needs of the Middle Office department. A diversified role which will range from supporting our customers and clients, and their use of our Electronic Trading services, to supporting our traders and market makers in managing both client-side and market side trading workflows. Previous experience of equity markets or Electronic Trading is beneficial but not a necessity. The candidate should help to proactively identify and remedy issues, continuously assessing the effectiveness of our trading workflows and competitiveness of our products and services. This ranges from our proprietary electronic pricing engine, internal and external trading algorithms, best execution analysis and transaction cost analysis for clients. This is a responsible position that would interest an ambitious, self-motivated individual seeking to move away from a routine role and have a meaningful impact by helping to enable the business. Excellent reporting skills will be required. Candidates should be self-starters, with the ability to learn and manage multiple tasks, including reporting and monitoring of core trading workflows, troubleshooting alerts, and communicating with colleagues. You will learn about financial markets, products and services through a variety of methods inclusive of but not limited to: 1. The completion of any relevant related qualifications; 2. Ongoing completion of mandatory cyclical compliance training;

3. Exposure to numerous touchpoints throughout the business; 4. The reading of relevant materials from reliable sources; 5. Internal policy and procedures documentation. We expect the individual to be committed to their career development and to have an overall aspiration to become a member of the Middle Office team. Maintaining compliance with legal requirements, industry regulations, organizational policies and professional codes will be essential in this endeavour.

Business Support 1. Assisting in managing client relationships and day-to-day customer support 2. Work with clients and internal trade desks to find solutions for their work flows 3. Assist in producing client presentations for meetings where necessary

4. Gather and analyse management information including relevant research

5. Assisting in system specification and development to meet set objectives

6. Supporting business development and client on-boarding

7. Monitor and support critical trading workflows, reviewing alerts Trade Support 1. Processing of key start-of-day and end-of-day tasks 2. Providing real-time support for Market Makers and Sales Traders 3. Reporting & reconciliation of key trading controls

4. Liaising with Exchange Market Supervision Teams

5. Ensuring we meet our Market Making obligations & reporting

6. Helping to manage & maintain business critical static data information

7. Project work to enhance the systems and procedures already in use

8. Liaising with Settlements & Corporate Actions on specific events

9. Build relationships with Market Counterparties

10. Close working relationship with Compliance, Trade Surveillance and Risk Technical Support 1. Liaise with clients or 3rd parties to troubleshoot and resolve real-time issues 2. Facilitate a centralised helpdesk for use by Winterflood broking and institutional clients 3. To assist in user acceptance testing of new E-Trading order routing functionality

Essential Criteria


· Excellent academic record; educated to Bachelors Degree or A-Level

· Industry experience would be beneficial

· Quick learner, with ability to question and challenge

· Ability to multi-task, sometimes under pressure

· Ability to plan and prioritize workload

· Presentable with good client facing skills and telephone manner

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Champion of the Company values

· Self-starter, initiative and motivated to achieve end goals

· Prepared to go the extra mile, ‘can-do’ attitude, strong work ethic

· Professional and responsible, taking pride in work, accountable

· Attention to detail is key in the role

· Knowledge of SQL, VBA, Python and data analytics tools is beneficial
